Application Screening Process

Resources for Applying to Rent

AFPM knows the importance of securing a qualified tenant. Our homeowners’ satisfaction is something we take very seriously and that is why we begin with a thorough screening process. For properties that are not currently leased we will advertise, show, and screen prospective tenants. We do not charge the owner an up-front fee, but simply deduct a percentage of the rental amount from the first month's payment.

The Following Criteria Are Used To Screen Prospective Tenants:

  • Two years of prior tenant history.
  • Two years of employment history.
  • Criminal Check nationwide for both misdemeanors & felonies.
  • Nationwide Sexual Predator Check
  • Nationwide Terrorist activity check
  • Two and half times the monthly rental amount for income.
  • Overall good credit history (based on a national risk score)

If tenant does not meet property management profile; prior to an immediate rejection, a member of our professional staff will contact the homeowner for final decision. In some cases an additional deposit can be substituted for one of the above.
